The front of the church was built in the Gothic style (between 1509 and 1522), with its beautiful and austere entrance. In contrast, you will be struck by the explosion of colour on the two domes on each side and the mosaic of the 12 apostles, inspired by the art of the Catalan modernism movement towards the end of the 19th century.

It is steeped in the history of the ‘Indianos’ When the people of Lloret who left for the Americas returned home after making their fortunes, they were met with a sad and impoverished town that was very different to what they were used to.

Taking a stroll through Lloret de Mar’s historic centre, you will come across the Church of Sant Romà, the patron saint of Lloret de Mar. The building reflects two very different periods of construction and architecture.

Mass is not celebrated in any other church or chapel in Lloret de Mar (neither in Sant Quirze, nor in Santa Cristina, nor in the chapel of the college of the Immaculate Conception, nor in the chapel of the Hospital.
